some new work, sorry for the lack of updates..

look for some of my work around mira mesa; i have kindly been graced with a permit which allows me to paint on electricity and utility boxes around the area.

ive been thinking

i dont ever want to be that person who has to make like they are oh-so-bored and completely content with they’re art. something happens when youre creating something that is pure magic, and nothing, including the very human need to be wanted and loved, should be able to skew that. listening to the things that people say about a piece and the words they throw around; the entire world is just one big ‘whos dick is bigger’ contest, and unfortunately i got sucked in. but i have realized that it doesnt matter what you have to say about this band and that one writer, this artist and that party. i like to make things that make me happy and contribute to the ever dwindling pile of nonsense that reminds me that there is something more than just the shit show that life is. impressing others and screening your thoughts just to placate a group or individual is bullshit. i draw and paint and im not going to be too cool to be extremely fucking stoked when somebody can look at one of my sketches or paintings and actually genuinely enjoy it. i truly, honestly, whole heartedly appreciate every single person who has looked at something ive drawn and really liked it; no bullshit, no ‘hmm this is very insightful because of the blahblahblahblah’. just pure and simple appreciation. secret? THERE IS NO UNDERLYING MEANING. the pieces i create gain meaning from the thoughts that they inspire. sure, they come from my own thoughts but to be honest when a person looks at something ive done, its not what i was thinking when i made it that is important. its a whole new experience for them and they can interpret and opinionate and spew creative matter as they please.

basically; do what you love and fuck all the rest. *interpret as you please* not only for the cool kids.
